Cool Cars

I'll let you in on a little secret. I like classic cars. Actually, I have been wanting a convertible for years. At the top of my wish list is a Bentley Sports Coupe, second, a BMW Roadster. Landing in third place is a vintage convertible roadster. I believe I'd look good in riding down the freeway with the top down and the wind blowing in my hair. Oh yeah, I can see it now.

The Importance of Time by Dr. Mike Freeman

"When you are late, you are really telling the person waiting on you so much about the level of honor or dishonor that you walk in. It is important for all of us to respect time! If we miss one moment when God is moving in the earth, it can delay our destiny forever. You will find that when you discover priority, you will have the time you need to accomplish things in life." (excerpt from SOFBI Chapel Service: The Importance of Time by Dr. and Pastor Mike Freeman)

This is something I've been working on. This brief excerpt gives me new insight as to what my behavior really means. I'm just processing and thinking there was probably a lot I missed because of this problem...wow, I apologize God. So today, I'll start with a clean slate and do whatever I have to in order to be on time. If that means setting my clock ahead, going to be earlier and not over scheduling myself, whatever, I'm going to do it. The main thing I can do, is ask God to help me. "Help me God to be on time, in Jesus name, Amen."

What do you think you missed out on because you were late?

Serene Reading or Writing Location

I don't do a lot of interior design ideas on this blog ( I usually reserve those for my magazine "Haute Pink"). However, this image struck me as the perfect place to sit and read or write a book. Or in my fantasy world, the perfect place for an intimate book club event.

What is your fantasy writing or reading place?

Simple Question...

What is your alone time with God like?

Do you spend it complaining to Him or thanking Him? Sometimes we get so caught up in what's going on around us, that we forget that special time we have with Him. We also selfishly spend the time issuing a laundry list of what we want Him to do for us or running our mouths that we forget to "be quiet". Sometimes the best way to be with God, is to be quiet. Let Him do the talking, telling you what He wants. You might be surprised to find out, you both want the same thing. It's just a thought.

Being alone and quiet with God, I guarantee it's the best date you'll ever have.

Leopard Boot

I am in love with this boot. I found this on le fashion image. I don't know who it's by, but I love it. I have been believing for a pair of leopard pumps. I think I'm going to add a pair of leopard booties to that request as well. Leopard is sort of like the new black...it goes with everything.

Trying Something New

I'm trying out this new template...however, I'm not sure I'm keeping it. I welcome feedback.

Italian Deck

italian countryside via jules @ the diversion project

The writer in me pictures me here stretched out on a chaise with a cashmere wrap, an espresso, a brownie and my computer, writing. The romantic in me, pictures me on a chaise wrapped in my husband's arms (speaking in faith) enjoying the beautiful Italian evening with the sounds of soft jazz framing the evening.

Fantasy Work Space

I think I have always been searching for the perfect home office...and I've yet to find it. Well that's not exactly true. I have a great Parson's style desk with drawers I found at an antique store for $25.oo. I painted it black and it used to be the check out desk in my store. Then when I moved stores, it became my home work space. Unfortunately, it also serves as my night table as well.

Every time I see a beautiful desk in a bedroom, I dream of my space looking like that...spending hours there writing. Funny thing is, as much as I would like that, I do most of my writing on my laptop in bed or a desk in the family room. Maybe that's one of the things I should put on my goal list for 2012...a better home work space.

In the mean time, I'll continue dreaming about the possibilities.

CUTE GUY ALERT

Ian Hylton

I found this handsome gentleman on a new favorite blog, The Sartorialist. His name is Ian Hylton. He's a designer and one of the best dressed men I've seen in a while that wasn't in a magazine or a movie screen. Love the look from head to toe.

STEVE JOBS

I was in the middle of writing when I got an email announcing the unfortunate passing of Apple Computer Icon and Co-Founder, Steve Jobs.

Those of you who know me, know I am an Apple junkie and loyalist. People say you are either a PC or a MAC person. I am proud to say, I am a MAC person. I was first exposed to the world of MAC when I worked in corporate America. But it wasn't until I had a major issue with my last PC that I rediscovered MACs. What convinced me to make the return? Customer Service. Apple has the best Customer Service. The staff is not only knowledgeable, but friendly and patient. It took me several visits to the Apple Store at South Coast Plaza before making the decision to convert.

Now my entire family is hooked.

Thanks to Steve Jobs and the Apple family for all their creative talent and the tools they've given us.

WALKING GLITTERATI

Every girl needs a pair of sparkly, glittery shoes. My preference would be these pink Miu Miu pumps. I think these shoes would help my writing. LOL. Even I don't believe that statement, but they sure would be pretty to wear to a book signing.

ANONYMOUS...WHAT IF?

"Anonymous" is a story that claims Shakespeare wasn't the writer we've all been raised to believe. Frankly, it claims he didn't write one word he's been credited with. Here's a question: What if you never wrote that book that's been gnawing at you or hired someone else to write it for you, how would you feel?

I know it's been a while since I posted a "Cute Guy Alert". Recently, I saw Gerard Butler on television and was instantly reminded of one of my favorite movies, "300." I was also glad to hear there might be a sequel...yeah!

FANTASY LIBRARY

This is almost my fantasy library. All that's missing is a little touch of pink, all my back issues of Vogue, Bazaar, W, Elle and a cute guy reading me poetry. Oh and a small bowl of chocolate covered almonds. What does your fantasy library look like?

LADUREE` COVENT GARDEN

Images from Park & Cube

The Laduree` company not only opened a new shop in New York, they also opened one in Covent Garden, London.

Love, love, love French macaroons. This patisserie is the perfect place to sit and read a book or write one. The atmosphere is serene and romantic. It cries out for a romantic encounter or to be the center of one. I just might have gotten the idea for a new book. Now all I need are a few macaroons and an espresso to jump start the creative process.

Books, Books, Books

This picture is from the decorista blog. I think it sums up the life of anyone passionate about reading and/or writing books. Always searching for more knowledge, entertainment and escapism. Or it could represent someone who is very unorganized or overwhelmed.

As we mourn the closing of Borders this week, look at this photo as a tribute to all those people like me who have been paying their respects and money to an old friend.

I'll miss you Borders.

Enjoying the Holiday

Phoebe Howard Design

How will you be spending the last holiday of the Summer?

I have a book to finish editing, plus a few business projects to work on. I'm thinking, that stuff can wait until Tuesday. I'm headed for the relaxation zone. It's going to be in the 80s here and there's no way, I'm staying inside. Have a great and safe holiday weekend.

Make Someone Smile

Smiling Rock Qualicum Beach

This was sent to me from one of the blogs I follow: patriciagrayinc.blogspot.com I like her decorating style and she shares some fun pictures. When I saw this, it did make me smile. I hope you smile too. Have a great day.

I know this blog is devoted to God, Fashion and Cute Guys. But I believe God loves fried chicken just as much as I do . (Smile) If you're near Beverly Hills Monday, August 29th, I suggest you go to Bouchon Bistro for Ad Hoc Chicken Night. They are doing it family style with mac and cheese, biscuits and gravy, collard greens and cobbler. Sounds pretty good to me.

And if you can't make it to Bouchon Bistro, order the kit.

Brain Atwood Pink Pumps

It's been a great summer and I've been very lazy about blogging...sorry about that.

Yesterday I saw these beautiful shoes on the Bergdorf Goodman blog and I feel in shoe love. Pink is my favorite color so I'm always drawn to beautiful pink shoes. I'm already thinking about what I can wear them with. Off the top of my head, they will work well with every black dress in my wardrobe as well as this great navy and white Missoni sheath my mom gave me. Oh, not to mention this simple little red jersey Jones of New York dress I throw in a pinch.

The search is on for these beautiful Brian Atwood Pony Hair Pumps. I'm already wearing them in my head.

CUTE GUY ALERT

Bradley Cooper

This handsome man first came to my attention when I got hooked on the television series "Alias". I recommend getting the series from Netflix and seeing how he went from cute to good-looking to handsome.

GREAT WORK SPACES

I saw these on one of my favorite decorating blogs www.thedecorista.com. I love the design ideas she showcases.

These are so girly. I am proud to say I have a vintage desk chair similar to the one pictured above. All of these are inspiring work spaces, especially the one in the closet. Imagine working sounded by all of your clothes...neatly organized.
